How to clean & maintain the Sodastream MIX®?

The Sodastream MIX® has 4 dishwasher safe detachable parts:

Carbonating Nozzle || Overflow Tank || Drip Tray basin || Drip Tray cover

Step 1 - Detach all washable parts (recommended near the sink)


  1. Pull the Carbonation Nozzle towards you to detach.
  2. Push the Overflow Tank snap to detach and empty.
  3. Remove Drip Tray. Separate the cover from the base to empty.
Step 2 - Wash all detached parts


  1. Rinse the detached parts.
  2. Run tap water through the Carbonation Nozzle.
  3. Wash detachable parts weekly with soap or in dishwasher.
  • It is recommended to give the Carbonation Unit a quick rinse after fizzing non-water drinks.
  • Never use abrasive cleaners or sharp tools to clean. If needed, use a mild liquid dish soap and a soft damp cloth to gently clean.
Step 3 - Assemble after cleaning


  1. Attach the Drip Tray Cover to the Base.
  2. Insert the Drip Tray into the bottom of the Sparkling Drink Maker.
  3. Connect the Carbonation Nozzle to the Overflow Tank.
  4. Push the assembled Carbonation Unit back at a slight angle, as shown on the illustration, until it clicks into place.

SPARKLING DRINK MAKER CARE

  • It is recommended to give the Carbonation Unit a quick rinse after fizzing non-water drinks.
  • Never use abrasive cleaners or sharp tools to clean. If needed, use a mild liquid dish soap and a soft damp cloth to gently clean.
  • Remove the drip tray and wipe spills to keep base dry. Drip tray is dishwasher-safe.
  • Do not place your Sparkling Drink Maker in water or wash in a dishwasher, doing so will seriously damage your Sparkling Drink Maker.

PLASTIC CARBONATING BOTTLE CARE

  • For plastic carbonating bottles which are not "dishwasher safe", to clean, rinse plastic carbonating bottles with cold or lukewarm water. WARNING! Do not expose to heat above 50°C / 120°F. Never wash or rinse in hot water. Do not wash in dishwasher.
  • For "dishwasher safe" plastic carbonating bottles, to clean, either wash in dishwasher or rinse Plastic Carbonating Bottles with cold or lukewarm water. WARNING! Do not expose to heat above 70°C / 158°F.
  • The carbonating bottle base is removable. Removing the base & cap before cleaning ensures best hygiene. After removing the base, follow cleaning instructions of the carbonating bottle as shown above. The metal base cup may be cleaned in the dishwasher.
    To remove the base - hold the carbonating bottle, gently turn and pull the base until it comes loose. After cleaning, put it back by turning until it clicks into place.
