Why is the bottle not connecting to the Sodastream MIX® Sparkling Drink Maker?

First, make sure you are using the correct carbonating bottle – Sodastream MIX® Sparkling Drink Maker is compatible with ALL Sodastream's plastic Carbonating Bottles:

To insert the plastic Carbonating Bottle: 

  1. Unlock Release Dial and tilt the Overflow Tank towards you. 
  2. Insert the bottle neck into the Snap-Lock System, and push it all the way up. 
  3. Tilt the Carbonating Bottle towards the Sparkling Drink Maker. 

! A gap between the Carbonating Bottle and the Drip Tray indicates that the Carbonating Bottle has been properly inserted. 

    • 430ml Carbonating Bottle for a single-serve drink. 

 

Option 1 – The bottle won’t release

If the bottle won’t release from the Snap-Lock mechanism, make sure you properly Unlocked the Carbonating Bottle and released the CO2 pressure:

  1. Use Release Dial to control the foam from overflowing.
    Remember: Control foam with dial. If it overflows, lock the dial again.
  2. Turn the dial to Stage I. Pause & let foam settle.

  3. Foam begins to rise – Wait a few seconds for the foam to settle.

  4. Turn Release Dial to “Release Stage II”, and let the foam settle.

  5. Unlock Release Dial. Pull Carbonating Bottle towards you.

WARNING! Do not remove plastic Carbonating Bottle until the Release Dial is all the way at its Unlocked position. Never force the plastic Carbonating Bottle out of the Snap-Lock system. Always allow the Sparkling Drink Maker to release the plastic Carbonating Bottle. If the plastic Carbonating Bottle is not immediately released from the Snap-Lock system check that the Release Dial is in the ‘Unlocked’ position.

Attempting to remove the plastic Carbonating Bottle while it is still pressurized can cause uncontrolled ejection of the plastic Carbonating Bottle and may result in serious injury.

Option 2 – The bottle disconnects during carbonation

If the Carbonating Bottle disconnects during carbonation, you may have a broken Snap-Lock mechanism. Check if the Carbonating Nozzle or Carbonating Bottle Rest are crooked.

Option 3 – Broken Snap-Lock

If you have a broken Snap-Lock mechanism, do not continue to use your Sparkling Drink Maker and please contact Sodastream.
