There is an issue with the flavor dispensing from the sodastream FOUNTAIN™

The flavor is not dispensing

Possible when (1) Wrong flavor dial setting, (2) Flavor Bottle not attached or (3) empty (4) Priming was not performed after flavor bottle change (5) Clogged Dispense Nozzle.

  1. Ensure Flavor Dial is not set on 0.  
  2. Ensure the flavor bottle is securely connected using the Flavor Connect Cap.  
  3. Replace if empty.  
  4. Run a priming cycle after every new Flavor Bottle replacement.
    1. Place a Small sized glass under the Dispense Nozzle.
    2. Set the Flavor Dial on “Boost” (B).
    3. Press the Activation Button x 1 or 2 until flavor is dispensed:  
      Boost x 1 for Zero Sugar / Diet flavors. Boost x 2 for all other flavors.
    4. Rinse the glass and continue to drink making.
  5. Wash the Flavor Connect Cap
    1. Remove Flavor Connect Cap from Flavor Bottle (cover the nozzle tip using a dry paper towel to prevent spills)
    2. Inside the sink, disassemble the Flavor Connect Cap into 4 parts: Straw, Nozzle, Pump, and Cap – All are Dishwasher safe.
    3. Wash each part with warm water to dissolve any left-over flavor  
      (recommended to run a cycle of still water once a week).
      • For a deeper clean: Soak in warm soapy water or use a small bottle brush to reach hard-to-clean areas. Use the plunger to push warm water through the Dispense Nozzle.
      • Optional: Wash in dishwasher (small parts may not clean thoroughly). Allow to dry fully before installing on new Flavor Bottle.
The flavor dispensing is too weak

Possible when (1) Low flavor setting, (2) Flavor Bottle is empty and / or priming was not performed after Flavor Bottle change, or (3) clogged Dispense Nozzle.

  1. Turn the Flavor Dial to a higher setting.  
  2. Wash the Flavor Connect Cap and Replace the Flavor Bottle
    1. Remove Flavor Connect Cap from Flavor Bottle
    2. Inside the sink, disassemble the Flavor Connect Cap into 4 parts: Straw, Nozzle, Pump, and Cap – All are Dishwasher safe.
    3. Wash each part with warm water to dissolve any left-over flavor  
      (recommended to run a cycle of still water once a week). 
      • For a deeper clean: Soak in warm soapy water or use a small bottle brush to reach hard-to-clean areas. Use the plunger to push warm water through the Dispense Nozzle.

    4. Assemble the 4 parts of the Flavor Connect Cap
    5. Tightly screw on the Flavor Connect Cap to the new Flavor Bottle.
    6. Open the Flavor Bottle Door on the front face of the Sparkling Drink Maker.
    7. Attach the Flavor Bottle by pushing the top of the Flavor Connect Cap up and into the flavor bottle slot.
    8. Once the Flavor Connect Cap is in the slot, turn the Dispense Nozzle left until it clicks and locks into place. When successful, the Flavor Indicator will light up. 
    9. If you connected a different Flavor Bottle - Run a priming cycle
      1. Place a glass under the Dispense Nozzle.
      2. Set the Flavor Dial on “Boost” (B).
      3. Press the Activation Button x 1 or 2 until flavor is dispensed:  
        Boost x 1 for Zero Sugar / Diet flavors. Boost x 2 for all other flavors.
      4. Rinse the glass and continue to drink making.
  3. Wash the Dispensing Nozzle by running a cycle of plain water.
The flavor is too strong

Possible when the flavor setting is wrong

  • Turn the Flavor Dial to correct setting and taste again.
Flavor variation between drinks

Slight differences in flavor strength are expected.  

  1. Ensure all your settings are according to your taste.  
  2. Ensure Flavor Connect Cap is cleaned, priming is done, and Flavor Bottle is properly connected.  
Machine dispenses only water

Possible when No Flavor Bottle is attached or flavor intensity set to 0.

  • Attach a Flavor Bottle and check if the intensity dial is not set to 0.
Flavor Boost not working

Possible when Boost feature is not activated correctly.

  • Activate the Flavor Boost option after the drink is dispensed.
Water not dispensing (the machine stops – the Drink Size lights blink Orange, the Status Light ring blinks white)

Possible when Water Tank is empty / not enough water in the Water Tank / Water tank is not properly connected.

  1. Refill the Water Tank with cold water up to the fill line.
  2. Ensure it clicks into place.
  3. Press the Activation Button.
Flavor is dispensing even when the Flavor Dial Setting is on 0 (plain sparkling water)

Any of these will stop the flavor dispensing:

  1. Run a Rinse cycle with plain water to clean the syrup leftovers remaining from the last ‘boost’ action:
    1. Place a small glass below the Dispense Nozzle.  
    2. Press the Carbonation Level Button repeatedly until the light indicator lands on Still (no carbonation).  
    3. Set the Flavor Dial in setting 0 (plain water).  
    4. Start the rinse cycle by pressing the Activation Button once.  
    5. Dispose of the liquid and continue to MAKE YOUR DRINK.
  2. Take out the flavor bottle completely, rinse its nozzle, and connect back.
